Many people do not understand why we have Freewill. The obvious proof of Freewill is that we are self-navigating entities.

As it appears, we have been organically spun off the Single Consciousness, to spiritually, consciously, and naturally return, to the Source of our origin.

In this process we create unique experiences that can endlessly be drawn upon to inform an understanding, albeit limited, pertaining to emotion and logic.

The entire exercise is us running through scenarios that lead to future scenarios as we make our way from a less aware state to a more aware state, to the ultimate state of awareness - our conscious communion with the Infinite Intelligence and all that is. That is our task.

Freewill is at the heart of this endeavor.

Here is how Freewill works, we choose our response to the multiplicity of events that demands our engagement. In this arrangement we inhabit, a circumstance is presented to us to which we must respond. In no particular order our response is predicated on a couple of factors, we can respond via our instincts and we can respond through our intellectual cognition. Simply put we can think about our response, or not. But we must respond. That is how life works. And by the way not doing anything, is a response.

Of these factors we respond from, intellectual cognition has interesting facets, because to a large degree it is based on our belief system. Regardless of how much thought we have given to any particular subject, if we believe something to certain point, that belief can influence our decision making. If the belief is well founded or not, matters little. The belief has been adopted and is placed ahead of competing beliefs. Any subject we have an opinion on, is an adopted belief we hold to be correct. We value the belief enough that we will allow actions that might be influenced by the belief to effect our life, as much as they will.

Accepting this explanation, it would stand to reason that giving sufficient thought to the most influential subjects would be beneficial. Knowing how a matter could effect one's life might lead one to invest the thought needed to truly understand one's belief on the subject. Being aware of one's instinctual response to a subject could be of help in discerning the matter as well.

And of course this is all part of Freewill.
